Specialty packs
An AI answering service that knows your specialty
A dental emergency, a sick-visit request, a PT evaluation and a first call to a therapist are four different conversations. Each Clinic Answering Service pack ships with the appointment types, intake questions, escalation words and eligibility service types that specialty needs, so the first call sounds right.

Intake questions
A dental emergency asks about cold sensitivity and swelling; a PT evaluation asks for the referring surgeon and surgery date; a therapy intake asks for a clinician preference and format. Clinic Answering Service asks only what that visit needs and writes the answers to the chart.
Eligibility service types
The X12 270 request names a service type. Dental checks preventive frequency, PT checks visit limits, behavioral health checks outpatient mental health and network status. The 271 answer is read back in plain words before booking.
Escalation rules
"Knocked out tooth" goes to the on-call dentist. "Trouble breathing" goes to the provider or 911 guidance. A crisis phrase in a therapy practice transfers to a clinician or the 988 Lifeline. Every pack starts with a vetted list you can edit.
The same engine under every pack
Whatever the specialty, the call runs the same way: Clinic Answering Service answers in under two seconds, confirms who is calling, checks coverage, offers two real slots from your EHR schedule, writes the booking and texts the confirmation. Staff see the slot appear on screen while the patient is still on the line. If a human is needed, the transfer comes with a ten-second whisper summary.
- Books into the built-in schedule; OpenEMR, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Open Dental and Google Calendar adapters are sandbox today, REST API live
- Eligibility (270/271) on the Practice and Group plans, sandbox until a clearinghouse is contracted
- English and Spanish, with texts in the caller's language
- Signed BAA on every plan, including Solo
Not sure which pack fits?
Multi-specialty clinics assign a pack per provider or per location. A group with a dental wing and a primary care wing runs two packs on one Group plan with pooled minutes.

Does Clinic Answering Service need a different setup for each specialty?
No. You pick a specialty pack when you connect your EHR. It loads the appointment types, intake questions, escalation words and eligibility service types for that specialty, and you edit anything you like before go-live.
Can one practice use more than one specialty pack?
Yes. A multi-specialty clinic can assign a pack per provider or per location, so a physical therapy line asks about referrals and a behavioral health line asks about confidentiality preferences.
Which specialty is Clinic Answering Service best at?
Dental and primary care have the most call volume and the most-requested EHRs (Open Dental, OpenEMR, athenahealth). Those EHR adapters run as a sandbox (demo) today and are planned for production; see the integrations page for each status. Physical therapy and behavioral health packs are newer but include the intake, referral and confidentiality flows.
Which plan do I need for a specialty pack?
Every Clinic Answering Service plan includes all four specialty packs. Solo ($149 a month) answers, books into the built-in schedule and texts confirmations; Practice ($349) adds EHR write-back and 270/271 eligibility as each goes live (both are sandbox today, see the integrations page); Group ($699) adds up to 10 locations and AI waitlist fill.
Never send a patient to voicemail again.
Ask for a demo and a person replies within one US business day. BAA signed before the first patient call. No long-term contract.
